So, there is a song that was brought to my attention a few weeks ago by my friend Tina.
The conversation went like this…
“What is your favorite color?” — “Um, Green…” —“I knew it!” —-“Why??!” —- “Cause I knew this Taylor Swift song was written about you. Check out “I’d Lie” and you’ll see”
So I begin sweating and freaking out wondering why this song about lying would be about me! I got home and checked out the song and found the lyrics are about some guy that Taylor must have had a crush on, but the way she describes this kid, pretty much means its about me, all the way down to the day I was born…
“He tells me about his night
And I count the colors in his eyes
He’ll never fall in love he swears
As he runs his fingers through his hair
I’m laughing cause I hope he’s wrong
I don’t think it ever crossed his mind
He tells a joke I fake a smile
That I know all his favorite songs…
…I could tell you his favorite color’s green
He loves to argue, born on the seventeenth
… he has his father’s eyes
…He sees everything black and white
Never let nobody see him cry…”
So there it is folks. It is funny to think that Taylor Swift once wrote a song about a guy she never met (at least not yet). Thank you to Tina for bringing this song to my attention.
