I think my blog has been neglected a bit when it comes to some decent music. I have a bunch of CDs in my car that are currently on rotation that I keep meaning to share with everyone so that people can have some good music to listen to these days.

Last week, Kris Allen (American Idol winner) released his sophomore album. In my opinion, this release, Thank You Camellia, is ten times better than his major label release. This is one of the CDs that you can listen to from beginning to end without having to skip tracks or dread the next song. It can also be classified as a CD that can play in the background without too much distraction. Kris Allen has a way of delivering songs that blend pop, folk, rock, singer-songwriter, etc.

This album has some real radio friendly tunes, but unfortunately, I think radio will mostly ignore this CD. The first single was here and there on the radio – even after he performed it on Idol. But honestly, some attention should be given to TYC. In my opinion, “Better With You” should be the next single. Hey, it is catchy!

Kris Allen – Thank You Camellia (Deluxe Version)

  1. Better With You
  2. The Vision Of Love
  3. My Weakness
  4. Out Alive
  5. Monster
  6. Blindfolded
  7. Teach Me How Love Goes
  8. Rooftops
  9. Leave You Alone
  10. Loves Me Not
  11. You Got A Way
  12. Turn The Pages
  13. Fighters
  14. The Vision Of Love (Maison & Dragon Radio Remix)

If you had to listen to only a few tracks, I recommend the first five. This morning I was ACTIVELY listening on the way to work and waiting for a song that I wanted to skip, but I found myself enjoying each track (as usual) and singing along to songs I didn’t realize I knew the words to. So, to reiterate, listen to: Better With You, The Vision of Love (not the Mariah version), My Weakness, Out Alive and Monster. So good.

Way to go Kris Allen. Best wishes for some good sales to allow for CD #3. Oh, and who is Camellia?
